Quartzite is one of the most beautiful natural stones available, and also one of the most variable. A few simple checks will help you choose a slab you will love for decades.
See the slab in person
Quartzite veins can change direction and intensity across a single slab. Seeing the full piece lets you decide which areas go on the island, the perimeter and around the sink.
Confirm it is true quartzite
Some stones are sold as quartzite but behave more like marble or dolomite. A simple scratch and etch test tells the difference, and we check every slab before cutting.
Plan the seams and book-matching
Long islands and waterfall edges may need two slabs. Book-matched slabs mirror each other at the seam for a dramatic, continuous look.
Choose a finish
Polished quartzite shows off depth and color; leathered quartzite has a soft texture that hides fingerprints and gives a more natural feel.
